Summary

This maize tutorial describes the creation of a Maize Tutorial program to house tutorial data and activities.  This tutorial requires that the BMS is installed with the maize public database.

  • Launch BMS
  • Add Program

Launch BMS & Add Program

  • Create an account. Click Register and fill in form. Remember your login in details. Login with username and password at subsequent launches.

  • Fill in form. Click the Save button. Login with your username and password.

Add Program

Initially the Workbench Dashboard will not show any programs.

  • Select Add a Program.

  • Fill in the basic details of the program. If the Maize public database has been installed, Maize will be an option on the crop drop down menu. Select Maize from the Crop list. Enter "Maize Tutorial" for the Program name. Save and Finish. Program Members, Locations, and Breeding Methods can also be specified at this point, but these steps are not necessary to get started.

The Maize tutorial program is now visible from the Dashboard, and is ready for germplasm, nursery, and trial management.
